658-Hour Therapist Program

To prepare for a career as a professional massage therapist, we recommend the 658-Hour Massage Therapist Program. Requirements for the 658-Hour Program include:

Although the 658-Hour Program exceeds minimum requirements for CAMTC Massage Therapist Certification, many students choose it for its greater comprehensiveness in preparing graduates to take the (currently optional, but highly recommended) Massage Board Licensing Exam (MBLEx). In addition, the 658-Hour Program is endorsed by the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA). This endorsement provides extra weight and validity regarding the quality of education in the program, and ensures that you have had coursework meeting all current COMTA educational objectives. Graduates who move to other states or jurisdictions outside California appreciate the additional course hours and recognition that the 658-Hour Massage Therapist Program provides. All Program requirements need to be completed within 24 months of the start date of your first course. (More information about the California Certification process is available at www.camtc.org.)
